Cory Parella was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. His father was a decorated policeman after whom the city named a street, Joseph Parella Lane, in 1998. Parella had some minor interest from his early scripts in the 1990s, but it wasn't until he funded his own film in 1995, "21", finished ten years later as "Witness Protection". During that time, he encountered many shady characters in the adult entertainment business. In 1998, he became a Christian. In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles where he began working on TV shows. He was married in 2002.
