Tommy Ramone / Biography

Former drummer for the pioneering punk rock group The Ramones
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 (as a member of the Ramones).
Was the original drummer for the Ramones only because they could not find another musician who played drums fast enough. Actually Tommy had never touched a drum set before playing with the band.
In late 1977, finding he was more comfortable in the recording studio than on the road with the Ramones, he quit as their drummer. But before he left, he trained Marky Ramone how to play Ramones songs and then went onto to produce some of the Ramones best albums.
