He was sued by actress Tina New for $10 million dollars because she claims he raped her after meeting her in a bar in Newport Beach, California in Summer 1999. She says she was forced into his car by his bodyguards and taken to a party at his house where she was given a drink she claims was drugged and then she was raped. [August 2000]

Did not play basketball in high school; however, while at Cooke County Jr. College, he walked on and played one season before dropping out and going to work as a janitor at an airport in Dallas. A recruiter from Southeastern Oklahoma State University who had seen him play that season saw him in the airport and invited him to try out for a basketball scholarship.
In 2005, he played for the ABA Tijuana Dragons in Baja California, México.
