Yuri Rutman / Biography

Born in Kiev, Ukraine. Lived in Italy and Israel. Came to America when he was 3. Grew up in Chicago's Roger's Park and Lincolnwood, IL. Was a violin prodigy. Appeared in dozens of high school plays at Niles West and Mather. Attended Loyola University Of Chicago and Northeastern Il. University. Crafted his movie producer skills while working real estate listings. Cold-called his way into big agencies which lead to the production of _Mr. Id (2001)_, which was originally a $100 DV movie. Met _Mr. Id (2001)_ writer Alexander Cicak, a former audio-video installer, when Rutman was the head of Universal Creative Artists. Has publicly announced plans for producing a slate of indie and event pictures. Is sometimes referred to as a modern day Sammy Glick.
