Martin was born & raised in Laval, Quebec, Canada. Currently resides in South Burlington, Vermont, during the off-season. Is currently in his seventh NHL season, and his fifth as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He played four years of college hockey in the ECAC with Vermont. Played organized soccer growing up, and signed with Tampa Bay as a free agent on July 31st, 2000.
