Emerging composer and multi-instrumentalist Cody Westheimer is a graduate of the music composition program at USC's Thornton School of Music. While attending USC Westheimer scored a record 40 student films. He now resides in West Los Angeles where he also has a recording studio.Primarily composing on keyboards, Westheimer is a veteran brass player, specializing in jazz trombone and tuba. Not only proficient in Western instruments, he began studying the Japanese shakuhachi (bamboo flute) in 1999. A unique element in Westheimer's music is his seamless blend of Eastern styles and space with Western harmony and counterpoint. A trained concert music composer, he was awarded the ASCAP Morton Gould Award for his orchestral work, "Bamboo Leaves." Comfortable writing and producing music in nearly every style imaginable, Westheimer's versatility has proved invaluable throughout his film scoring career.
