Josh Wheaton was born August 20, 1976 in a small town in Virginia. Josh's mother remarried, and left to join the Air Force, along with his stepfather, who consequently, was also in the Air Force. As a military brat, Josh traveled all over the world. It wasn't until the age of 10 did Josh become actively involved in dance and theater. Under the direction of Mary Ellen Wier, Josh began dancing for the North Dakota Ballet Company, and it was at this time, Josh also began his acting career. While attending high school in the U.K., Josh read and was cast in Waterland by Stephen Gyllenhaal. Even though he enjoyed this first break into film, he also understood the importance of honing his craft. Thoroughout his time in the U.K., Josh continued his acting very aggressively, especially with his understanding of Shakespeare, and even attended some workshops at the Theater Royal in Suffolk, UK. After High School graduation, Josh attended NSU with a theater scholarship, but decided to leave his schooling to join the United States Marine Corps. While at Parris Island, Josh had the distinct honor of being the number one graduate out of boot camp, and was awarded the title of Gulf Company Honor Graduate. After faithfully serving his country, Josh decided to get back into theater, and into school, and was accepted into Elon University with a theater scholarship under Fred Rubeck. While attending Elon, Josh was nominated for the Irene Ryan competition, a prestigious competition held at the Kennedy Center, Washington DC, for his performance in Hell Hath No Fury, written and directed by Braden Weeks, by an adjudicator from the Kennedy Center American College Theater. Deciding it was best to first finish Elon with an accounting degree, Josh graduated Elon University with honors, and went on to work for Arthur Andersen as an auditor. Currently, Josh owns his own business, and has decided to continue the full pursuit of doing what he loves most in the world...acting. He currently lives with his lovely wife in the Washington DC/ Baltimore area.
