Conroe Brooks was born and raised in San Jose, California. He started as a theater actor in the Bay Area when he was a teenager. At the age of 18 he replaced one of the members of the already established R&B group Special Generation (known as 'MC Hammer''s group). After continuing to develop his craft as an actor at San Francisco State University and his craft as a singer in the group, he made his way to Los Angeles. He was immediately noticed by 'Robert Townsend(I)' who gave him his TV debut as Sam Cooke in _Little Richard (2000)(TV)_. From there he landed his feature film debut as the lead role in _2G's & a Key(2000)_. He has continued to work as a singer and is now recording a solo album due to be released summer of 2005.
