David Cosgrove has been creating music for 20 years. Learning to play the piano at the tender age of 5, David's musical future began in earnest with daily practice and performances in front of his classmates. A few years later, the alto saxophone was picked up and to extraordinary results. Playing in the jazz band in high school David was around some world-class talent every day - case in point is Brad Mehldau, the incredible jazz composer/pianist - and being around guys like Brad and other jazz wizards, only the best of the best could possibly be influential. Jamming daily, original compositions came quickly and prolifically, with hour after hour of practice, both solo and with various line-ups of good friends.Countless hours were also invested with the turntable and CD player spinning concert legends and composers like Genesis, Steve Hackett, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tito Puente, Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull, Rush, Georges Bizet, Pink Floyd, Yes, Starcastle, Frank Zappa, Todd Rundgren, Pat Metheny, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock, Brand X, Weather Report and many others.Flash forward to today we find David composing music for film and working with his good friends Actor/Producer Paul J. Alessi (Ten 'til Noon, Morphin(e)), Actress/Producer Amie Barsky (Morphin(e), Austin Powers in Goldmember) and Actress/Producer Stacia Crawford (Entourage, Guiding Light, All My Children) to keep things interesting and fun.A conservatory-trained musical theorist, classically-trained sound recording engineer, multi-instrumentalist, philanthropist, avant-garde groundskeeper, perpetual green-thumb, Web developer and one-time front man of makkiwhip during their progressive days, David has now immersed himself in the wonderful world of Electronica - and one listen will tell you, only as David knows how.
