Aaron Houston made his directorial debut with the short film "Rousing Doug" which garnered Best Film and Best Cast at the 2003 Overnight Success Awards Festival. An autodidactic filmmaker inspired by directors like Stanley Kubrick, Houston has written and directed three short films, produced eight others and is currently producing his first feature "Taming Tammy" starring Sarah-Jane Redmond and Garry Chalk. As co-producer of the Celluloid Social Club, Houston supports fellow independent filmmakers by showcasing their projects at this monthly event. In addition, Houston recently co-founded the "Hot Shots Shorts Film Contest" for emerging filmmakers, which provides the winning team with a $30,000 sponsorship package to make a film. His involvement in these film events allows Houston to help foster the indigenous film community and be a part of providing opportunities for local filmmakers.
