Trained at the Drama Workshop in Bearsden, Glasgow from 1997 to 2003 and the Vivace Theatre School; held at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2004. His grandfather was headmaster to singer and actress Sheena Easton during her time at Bellshill Academy in Scotland. His other grandfather was childhood friends with Greer Garson.
