Mark Alfrey / Biography

Mark Alfrey grew up in Old Bridge, New Jersey. His parents, Dorothy and Daniel, were always supportive of his creative endeavors. With aspirations of becoming a film maker he moved to California two days after graduating Madison Central High School. Having already developed a talent for art and sculpture he pursued opportunities in special make-up effects. After earning his first movie credits as a critter maker on "Critters 2" and portraying a zombie in "Demonwarp" his savings ran out so he returned to Jersey. There he met renowned artist and film maker John Dods. He worked for John on several films, tv shows and Broadway plays. With a stronger body of work under his belt he returned to Los Angeles in 1995 to find a steady career in special effects and sculpting. In 2001 he started a series of instructional dvds to share his knowledge and experience with other aspiring artists. Currently he is pursuing a career as a feature film writer/director.
