Guillaume Tauveron was born in Clermont-Ferrand on the 19th of March 1979. He was raised in a small village surrounded by forest and mountains, with his own father, Jacques Tauveron, a teacher for seven years in the village's elementary school. His father had a big influence. First as a teacher, because he taught not only French, mathematics and geography, but always helped children's creativity to grow: music, drawings, writings, even movies. Even when very young, Tauveron was always drawing, writings or reading. And as a father, Jacques gave him the love for movies and Asian culture. Even at 5 or 6 years old, Guillaume was watching several films a week, and knew by heart which movies would be screened next on TV or at a Movie Theater. With junior high school, the perfect life stopped. From 10 students to 1000, from nature to town, from one unique father-teacher to 10 unknown teachers, with no place for creativity, Guillaume didn't found his place. At the same time, his back began to hurt because of a small scoliosis and he was forbidden to do any sport. He became a loner, speaking to no one, a little fat, with really bad marks (except in French and English), sometimes mistreated by other students. During this period he doubled a year of school, and his parents divorced. But in the end, he managed to recover a slim body and to stop being a loner. He learned then that hard times make people stronger and also that any one can change his life, in a good way as in a bad way.As soon as he entered in High School, he began to write a novel: Utopia. For 4 years, he wrote nearly every day. As he was only thinking to write, he doubled another year of school. But after 4 years, he had written a big novel (more than 200 pages) and written a lot of other texts. He didn't try to edit those texts, because he thought them too immature. And during those years, still watching a lot of movies, he understood that only writing was not enough. Seeing the credits title at the beginning of Mars Attacks! (1996) from Tim Burton he understood he wanted also to show his own inside world on screen. And also, as he loved to tell stories, thanks to cinema he could tell stories with the script, but also with images, lights, sounds, music. The same story explained with many different ways. So it was decided, he would become a movie director. He had made his decision, but unfortunately, he hadn't enough courage to make it. He thought that somehow, he had to study regularly, and have a regular job and a regular life. He also tried to hide his artistic instincts for no reason. But people are what they are. So during five years, he kept writing scripts, but he didn't made anything important: little jobs, studies stopped after a few months, work in an advertising company where he never found his place. Again he became a loner. But during this period two important events happened. First, after having done a lot of work-outs for his back, his problems stopped and he began to do a lot of sport. Thanks to it he learned combativeness, to surpass himself, and to never give up. And he also began to learn Japanese and study Japanese culture: movies, literature, history. And he met Yuka Tauveron who became his wife two years later. At 25 years old, he met a Japanese painter, Kakuen. Guillaume asked him a simple question: "why since I'm a child, have I always been melancholic?". Kakuen answered "Artistic people always feel in another world. They always feel alone. They would like to share the same world as other people but they can't. So they create, to communicate with people and show a world that both could see. Because of their difference, artists feel sad and lonely, but thanks to it they have a great sensibility and could create beautiful things". The answer was simple and evident but it changed Guillaume's life. Until then he had always partially refused to accept who he was. But he had no choice. He had an artist heart and could not live without using it. He suddenly stopped his job and studies and decided to hang onto only one thing. Become a movie director at whatever cost. No money, unknown future, but free to become every thing he would like to, he shot several short movies: 'Raoul', 'Katremille Cinsenvintedeu', Tenshi to Akuma (2004) - which has been screened in several short movies festivals. He also start to draw and to take pictures. And it was at the end of 2004 he met Hiroshi Toda in a French Asian movie festival. They soon become close friends and met several times in France or in Japan where Guillaume went three times. And they have just co-directed a long movie: Sakura no kage (2006) which is still in progress. The story of this movie takes place both in Japan and France, and Guillaume plays the main character. A lot has been done, and more is left to be done.
