Born in the Elmhurst section of Queens, New York, Ace Antonio graduated from C. W. Post, Long Island University, earning a Bachelors degree with concentrations in filmmaking and screen writing. One of his major influences come from his father, activist Chris Acemandese Hall; a painter, artist, and songwriter who is known for writing the lyrics to the jazz classic "So What", sung by Eddie Jefferson and illustrating children's books such as "Let's Celebrate Kwanza".Antonio first came to public notice as a producer and songwriter with Columbia recording artists Inner City. His compositions with that group included an R&B version of their classic Share My Life (1994) and Changes. Also, that year he co-produced Dirty Dawg, with Greg Nice which was a remix for the multi-platinum group New Kids On The Block. He opened a 24 track studio with Vance Wright (DJ for Slick Rick) in New Rochelle and began producing up and coming talent in the genres of pop, rock, and dance music. In 1998, he started managing a hip-hop artist named, Asu. He produced Asu and helped him sign a deal with Krayzie Bone (Bone, Thugs & Harmony) on Thugline/Sony Records. After the deal went sour, Antonio quit management for the time being and began pursuing his writing career under the pen name David Dearborn. He also became a middle-school teacher and director of an after-school suspension program in which he instituted a Rites of Passage program for Black youth. He focused on exposing youth to things that they would not normally come in contact with in Urban America in terms of music, art, literature, science, religion, professionalism, and job etiquette. His approach came from a quote from one of his books: Exposure plus Experience equals Appreciation. In the following years, he self-published eight books on short-stories, philosophy, and poetry. For the past twenty-one years, Antonio has worn many hats in film, acting, talent management, entertainment, and music as a creative director of an acting school, music producer, songwriter, novelist and actor.
