Raegan Butcher was born in Seattle, Washington on January 15th 1969 but moved to rural Snohomish, Washington as a young child. While a teenager he formed a punk rock band called Pale & Skinny. In 1991 his first chapbook of poetry, End Of The World Graffiti, was published. In 1994 he appeared in the Seattle Indie favorite "The Year Of My Japanese Cousin." In June of 1996 he was arrested and convicted of first degree armed robbery and sentenced to 8 years in prison. While a guest of the state he completed several full length screenplays and many other as yet unpublished literary works. In February of 2003, just one month short of his release from prison, his first full length book of poetry, Stone Hotel: Poems from Prison was published to unanimously rave reviews. Since his release from prison on St Patrick's Day 2003 he has had another full length collection of his poetry entitled Rusty String Quartet published, again to glowing reviews.
