Son of actor Kurt Garfield, related to screen legend John Garfield, David was born in Brooklyn, New York and as a 3rd generation actor David started acting at age seven, started making films at thirteen, and at fifteen performed live on television as a juggler ("Kids on Stage '87"). He has attended the California Institute of the Arts for both acting and directing. SAG/AFTRA after joining the pilot for ABC's "My So-Called Life" (1994) and WGA with several screenplays, he has been acknowledged for his work in television and film as an actor, director, writer and producer. Founder of the east coast production company: "Open Heart Cinema" he now directs 35mm feature films and is attached to several other film and television projects. His successful software company gives him the freedom to finance and develop his own independent projects and he will always passionately continue to do more for his families namesake.
