In 1999 Ronan attended Dun Laoghaire Community College where he did a portfolio course and later a Certificate of City & Guilds of London in TV and Video. Then he attended Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology. In college he was one of the founding members of the drama society. It was in the drama society that Ronan developed an interest in acting when they put on the play Glengarry Glen Ross by David Mamet. From that, Ronan landed a part in a short film role as Eric in the comedy, Poultry in Motion, which, in 2001 won the Audience Award at Corto Imola Festival. In 2002 he graduated from Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology with a National Certificate. He has worked as a Producer for Live 95fm in Limerick. Ronan's long term goal is to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting and writing. His two bothers are also involved in the film industry. Frank Cassidy is a producer for Content film in Ireland and Patrick Cassidy is a composer.
