Born and raised in small town Harlan, Iowa. Began doing theatre as young as 4th grade but did not get serious until after high school when he decided he did not want to be an optometrist. Instead, Knoell got a BA degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (with minors in English and Philosophy). He received an MFA in Acting from the University of Central Florida in May 2006. David has worked mostly in the professional theatre community around Chicago and Orlando. Since 2003 he has lived in Orlando, Florida, alone with this thoughts. Knoell has also been a successful improvisational actor onstage in Nebraska (with a group known as the Huge Embarrassing Failures), Orlando (with group: Derelict Toys, and with SAK Comedy Lab), Chicago (I.O.), and New York (UCB).
