Matthew Scott Krentz (writer/producer/director/actor) was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Although a dedicated basketball player up through college and then overseas, Matt always had a passion for filmmaking. Upon graduating with honors, from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, with a focus in Marketing, he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, working for the Sundance Summer Filmmakers Labs at Robert Redford's resort for five summers as an art director. The remainder of his time has been spent in St. Louis working on his own film projects. Matthew has written a number of full-length scripts, and directed a handful of short films, music videos and commercials.In 2005, Matthew Scott Krentz and MSK Productions LLC had three different projects eligible for three major awards. The short film Ponteuse was eligible for an Academy Award. Why Fish Swim in Schools was nominated for CSA's prestigious Artios Award, and the thirty second commercial spot Fingerpaints won a Telly award.In 2007, Streetballers became Matthew Scott Krentz's first feature film. He wrote, produced, directed, and played the lead in this story tackling subjects such as division, hardship, racism, and the beautiful ways we strive to make sense of this world around us. A story about relationships and achieving goals.
