First-Generation Japanese American born and raised in New York City. Attended the prestigious Collegiate School for Boys. At age 13, was a freelance illustrator and 'discovered' by the producers of Kids' Court who were looking for young artists at the Arts Students League of New York.Trademark wave on the show was flashing the 'peace' sign - very common with young Japanese children at the time.Graduate of Vassar College.
