Luca Palanca was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York - one of four boys, of Italian immigrant parents. Growing up in the neighborhood, his friends and family already knew he was a star, but when he landed the lead role in the off-Broadway play "Tony and Tina's Wedding", there were a lot of people saying "I told you!!". Playing Tony for almost 2 years, allowed Luca to develop his improv comedy skills.Realizing his love of comedy, Luca then began performing stand-up in clubs around the country, intriguing the audiences with his wise-cracking attitude. He decided to expand his talents in Los Angeles, where he made a name for himself as a comedian - performing at The" World Famous" Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory.When he wrote and starred in a short film called "Choose Life" - it went on to make a huge splash in the 2001 Sundance film festival. His acting skills were showcased during leading roles in the Jason Priestly movies "Zigs"and "Double Down". Luca was proud to be cast in the late Bruno Kirby's last film-"Played", which also stars Gabiel Byrne and Val Kilmer.The comedian/ actor/ writer, then wrote feature "Made in Brooklyn" - a film that includes 4 neighborhood stories. Luca wore many hats during the filming of the movie - producing, acting and directing. It stars many of the "Soprano's" cast members, and several well-known comedians. "Made In Brooklyn" is scheduled for a 2007 theatrical release.Still working as an actor, he has become a recurring character on the MTV series, "Short Circuitz".Not one to rest on success, Luca is currently working on the inspired by actual events movie, "Ball" as he continues to travel comedy stages around the country.
