After being romantically involved with Romper Stomper (1992) co-star 'Jaqueline McKenzie (I)', Pollock, a heroin addict, threw himself under a train after filming was finished. Co-star Russell Crowe and his band (Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts) wrote a song about Pollock's suicide called "The Night That Davey Hit the Train."
