Attended Woodberry Forest School on the Randolph Scott acting scholarship. Has trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. Trained at the Gaiety School of Acting and Samuel Beckett Center at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Grew up in Clarke County, deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where his family moved from Washington, DC. His father, Patrick, is a former CNN reporter.
