Studied acting at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique under Madeleine Marion, Catherine Hiegel and Daniel Mesguich. Longtime companion of Claire Chazal between 2003 and 2007. Has supported Noël Mamère's 2002 and Ségolène Royal's 2007 presidential campaign. Has two children, Marie and Louis, with Anne-Marie Etienne. His father worked as a gas station attendant, his mother was a teacher. Grew up in the suburbs of Rouen, France.
