Pedro Varela is an actor/director from Lisbon, Portugal. Pedro has been acting since the age of sixteen. He has experience in theatre, film and TV. At the National Theatre in Lisbon, he worked with such artist/directors such as Carlos Avilez and Richard Cottrell. He directed and acted in the staged version of Irvine Welsh's "Trainspotting," the riveting novel which was later adapted by Danny Boyle for the big screen. Pedro has also hosted, directed and acted in many TV series, short and feature films and theatre productions. He has been teaching and directing in such places as Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, Boston and Los Angeles. His style is thorough and distinct. Pedro Varela, who brought European style and spirit from his experience in film and theatre, drew the support of several professional personalities such as cinematographer Michael Chapman, actor/director Joanna Gleason, actor Chris Sarandon and actor/director Paul G. Gleason; director of the American Center for Music and Theatre in Los Angeles. His last short-film "Toti" was in the official selection of many International Film Festivals and "Surf Girls", a documentary, is now ready to come out.
