Joseph Yeargain hails from a small town in Louisiana called Ponchatoula. If you think of traditional Louisiana with its swamps, alligators, oak trees, & beautiful sunsets, you have Ponchatoula. (The town's name means 'flowing hair' which accounts for all of the Spanish moss Indians saw there.) Growing up, Joseph fancied himself a veterinarian, an astronaut, a GI Joe, a basketball star, a jazz crooner, a singer & lead guitarist of an alternative rock band amongst a plethora of other things since lost to the annals of history. As allergies, vertigo, an astigmatism, & height began ruining dreams he had, Joseph was on the lookout for something to light his fire, the dream of dreams. The summer before he started high school, a friend convinced him to do a theatre workshop. And the tasty venom from that crazy bug, Theatre, stole him away, lit his fire, and revealed a hidden passion that has led him ever since in a pursuit of a career in acting. This pursuit led him to the Louisiana School for Math, Science, & the Arts for his junior & senior year of high school where he earned a Distinction in Theatre and English for his 116-page paper, 'Tennessee Williams & Elia Kazan: A Collaboration in Theatre.' He was also entered into the school's Hall of Fame. For his undergraduate degree, Joseph was accepted to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he earned a BFA with Honors in Acting. He did his primary training in the Atlantic Theatre Company Acting School, with summer intensives with the Aquila Theatre Company and at Stonestreet Film & Television Studios before heading abroad for his senior year during which he studied in Dublin and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Since then Joseph has been pursuing an acting career in New York City. Select credits include: Off-Off Broadway: Hamlet in 'Hamlet' (LaMaMa ETC), 'The Standards of Decency Project' & 'Busted Jesus Comix' (Blue Coyote Theater Group), 'Grace Falls' (NY Fringe Festival) 'Andre' (Metropolitan Playhouse). Tours: 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' & 'Twelfth Night' (Aquila Theatre Company/Lincoln Center Institute). Film: Closure (2007/I).
