Daniel Collopy was born on February 1st 1978 in Melbourne, Australia. He comes from a large family consisting of his parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Throughtout his school years he was always involved in drama and after doing his first musical, 'Les Miserables', he knew that he wanted to act. At school he studied art, media, theatre studies and it was at Swinburne University that he studied graphic design. After working in radio, which he started after deferring his second year of university, he had casual work and then landed the role of Sean Edwards in long running Australian soap "Neighbours" (1985). Daniel now plays Josh West in another long running Australian soap "Home and Away" (1988), his first regular role on television.
