Leader of the band Whitesnake 1978-1990, 1994-1998 Replaced Ian Gillan as lead singer of Deep Purple. Only member of Whitesnake to appear on all of their albums. Sang on Deep Purple's Burn, Stormbringer, and Come Taste The Band albums. Also sang on the Made In Europe live album. Was only 21 years old when he replaced Ian Gillan in Deep Purple.
