Bill Cowell is a writer, producer, director, and actor. In 1997, Bill negotiated a deal for his first project with a major Hollywood distributor and long-time veteran actor Rodney Dangerfield. In 1998, he worked on his first feature film, Raindrops (2000), which he wrote, produced, and directed. 'Raindrops' was completed in June of 1999 winning ten genre awards along with Bill receiving a 'Most Promising Filmmaker' award. Subsequently, a major film distributor acquired 'Raindrops' with worldwide rights in 2001. In late 2003, Bill wrote, produced, directed, and starred in his second feature film The Maize: The Movie, (2004)_. The film was completed in August of 2004. won a 'Best Suspense Film Award' and was released Nationwide by Lions Gate Entertainment in October 2005. Bill's next project was 'The Magic Shoe', a magical, coming-of-age drama, which is in the final stages of development. Bill offered and signed the esteemed actor, James Garner, for the role of The Grandfather. Plans are underway to shoot the film in Bill's hometown in Western New York.Bill is the owner of 'Captures Entertainment', a full service production company that produces, finances, and distributes feature film projects.Bill is also the founder of The Buffalo Niagara Film Festival, and has attracted many Hollywood followers. And promises to continue to do so in the future.
