Both parents are from the Caribbean. Father is from Grenada and his mother is from Jamaica.
British R&B singer. Sir Elton John has called him England's best singer.
Voted the 98th worst Briton in Channel 4's poll of the 100 Worst Britons. [11 May 2003]
Grew up on one of the toughest neighbourhoods in Southampton, The Holyrood estate.
He is a big fan of Southampton Football Club, who are in the English Premiership and can sometimes be spotted wearing the clubs jersey during gigs.
