Born in Lima, Peru, Ricardo de Montreuil has achieved recognition in Film, TV, Advertising and print media. De Montreuil has spent most of his career as a Senior Creative at MTV Networks Latin America, overseeing the overall design and content of MTV channels throughout the region.As a filmmaker, de Montreuil received a "Creative Achievement Award" at the "Festival du Cinema de Paris" and also a "Jury Selection" at the Biarritz Film Festival for his short film "Amiga".His first feature film, "La mujer de mi hermano" ("My brother's wife"), based on a novel by the controversial Peruvian author Jaime Bayly, has been acquired by Twentieth Century Fox for major distribution in Latin America and by Lions Gate Films for U.S theatrical distribution. "My brother's wife" has become one of the most successful films in Latin America, and will be the largest release of a Latin film in the USA. The film features top Latin talent such as; Barbara Mori, Christian Meier, Manolo Cardona, Angélica Aragón, Beto Cuevas and Bruno Bichir.This multi-faceted director has also been involved with music videos. He has directed videos for artists like Andrea Echeverri, Pastilina Mosh and Nicole. De Montreuil has been nominated twice at South-by-South West Film Festival in Austin Texas for Nicole's 'Vida' and Campo de Almas' 'Tus Alas Caerán' music videos. Plastilina Mosh's music video 'Peligroso Pop' was nominated at the MTV VMALA 2003 as Best Alternative Video. He has also won several Promax and BDA awards for his achievement in TV creative and art directionAdvertising direction is also part of de Montreuil's career. He has been actively involved with "Truth", a nationwide anti-tobacco campaign, and has directed several commercial spots for this pro-social initiative. De Montreuil was the first Latin director participating in this campaign. He has also directed commercial spots for companies such as Coca-Cola, Mc Donald's and MTV. His "Hewlett Packard" commercials were nominated at the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival in France.Ricardo is currently working in the new Panamax feature film 'Una vez mas', scheduled to start shooting in Mexico, May 2006.
