David Fariborz Diaan (Davoodian) was born in Tehran on April 12, 1959 and moved to the United States in 1976 to study radio and television at the University of Missouri. In 1981 he founded the The Express Group in Los Angeles, California. He founded the Liquid Productions theater group in 1995, which stages comedic plays in Southern California and New York. In 1996 and 1997, he starred in the XTV sketch comedy television program. He co-produced and took a lead role in America So Beautiful (2001), directed by Babak Shokrian, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. He also began a weekly three-hour talk show on KIRN Los Angeles, for which he both wrote and hosted. In 2002, he served as executive producer and starred in the American feature film, The Dogwalker (2002), directed by Jacques Telemaque, which premiered at the 2002 Los Angeles Film Festival. In 2003 he founded Adam Films, which produced the documentary Iran Is My Home (2003). Filmed and directed by Mr. Diaan in Iran, the film was an entry in the documentary competition at The IFP Los Angeles Film Festival. His screenplay entitled "The Apology" recently placed first in the 2004 Slamdance Screenplay Competition. Every week he is seen by an audience of over 10 million worldwide on the satellite television show "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World". He is recognized as a popular and talented Iranian artist in America and abroad.
