Michael Ted Ferris was born in Austin Texas to Mike and Maria Ferris. Growing up he was always known as a writer, always seen with either a book or a notepad. In 1999, while writing an article for his school's newspaper, he began formulating the script for what would become his first feature, "Aaron Habeeb: True American Hero". Spending every weekend his senior year shooting and editing Aaron Habeeb, he finished it before graduation and was rewarded by having his movie shown in local theatres that summer. In Fall of 2000 he began his stint in film school at the North Carolina School of the Arts, famous for its graduates David Gordon Green and Tim Orr. Now in the last semester of school, he has become known for the creativity and originality of his films and has avoided being pigeonholed by writing scripts in all genres. In 22 years he has made two features, thirty seven shorts, five commercials, two corporate videos, and one music video. He currently works in Beverly Hills, California at Smart Entertainment which is producing the upcoming Will Ferrell movie "Blades of Glory".
