After graduating from Patchogue-Medford High School in 1997, he moved to North Carolina only to return to New York eight months later to attend college for television/film production. In 2001, he started working at JHD Productions Ltd. as a freelance editor and crew person primarily for independent films, music videos and commercial/industrial videos. In 2005, he started working at NBC Universal in New York City.
