Born on June 21, 1981 in Las Vegas, Brandon Richard Flowers is the youngest of six children. Having grown up in the small town of Nephi, Utah, his best chance of getting into music was the cassettes he would inherit from his older brother, Shane. During Brandon's junior year in high school, the Flowers family returned to Las Vegas, at which point he wanted to be a professional golfer. Brandon eventually found work as a bellhop, and it was during that time that he discovered his true calling: music. In 2002, after having been dumped by his previous band, Brandon responded to an ad printed by Dave Keuning, and the two formed a partnership. Enter Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannuci, who struck up a friendship with Brandon and Dave and completed the quartet which would become a benchmark in the world of independent rock, the Killers.
