James Ginty was born to Robert Ginty and Francine Tacker on Dec 4th, 1980 in the city of Los Angeles in California. He grew up in Washington, DC and began boarding school in 7th grade. He spent two years at Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, Pennsylvania. From there he had four years at Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan. After that, James attended The Juilliard School in New York City. He studied classical ballet for seven years at several different schools, including The American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet and The National Ballet of Canada. James began acting at the age of 14. He attended acting programs at The British American Drama Academy, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Interlochen Arts Academy and The Juilliard School.In January 2001, James began work on his first professional job: K-19: The Widowmaker (2002), with Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson. In his free time, James has been spotted attending theater, ballet, opera and sporting events which include baseball, football, hockey and basketball - many of these in New York City. Aside from working in the entertainment business as a producer, director, writer and actor, James also enjoys traveling, cooking and fishing.

He apeared as Romeo in Seattle Repertory Theatre's 2003 production of Romeo and Julliet, Bertram in The Folger Shakespeare Theate's All's Well That Ends Well, and as Jacob Milne in Tom Stoppard's groundbreaking play Night and Day at The Wilma Theatre. In 2004 James did a pilot directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and staring Stanley Tucci. James now lives in Los Angeles.
