David Hernandez is a Chicago native. David Hernandez has proven over his lifetime to be the apiary Renaissance man. From the age of 12 years old he showed an interest in business and doing his own thing. He has been involved in Radio, television and a/v production, not to mention that at 12 years-old he owned his own merchandise mail order business. David's family and friends thought that David was crazy to even dream of attempting television. They were not even sure he was really offered a chance to act. David Hernandez was discovered on a street cornet on Augusta and Rockwell in front of his Grandmothers Video game room by Sylvia Giannini and Jack Ginay of NBC Chicago where he was interviewed and asked to audition for a national role in "Still A Stranger" A docu-drama that introduced the Hispanic culture to the rest of the world. David Hernandez portrayed the son of the family Carlos. His first time ever on television and he had a national role!!!He was then hunted down by a talent Agent by the name of Myrna Salazar or Salazar & Navas Talent agency. As the locals recall a lady driving a Mercedes-Benz and wearing a fur coat was looking for David Hernandez. Word Spread fast and David received the information by the hand of his grandmother. She told him, "See what this woman wants and be careful". From then on David was to be known in the community as Hollywood Hernandez.Since then he has been in various films, videos, industrials and voice overs in English and Spanish. David has done cartoon voices for Colgate Palmolive, such as "Battle Of The Bandz".In the late 90s he was offered a contract (an exclusive contract) with NBC in which David was ready and able to accept. His then agent somehow managed to screw up the negotiations and blew the contract all together. David Hernandez found out later that his Agent was not ready to let him go to the network at any price. This was the first network opportunity and hit him hard as an actor. He owned a Sea Food Restaurant in the west side of Chicago for 9 years and is now in the business of helping people fight and win foreclosure battles.Hernandez took full control of producing, directing and even editing the Bi-lingual television program Coqui-tv.com which ran for several years.
