Born in East Texas, and raised in Kerrville, Shaun first became involved with filmmaking in high school with his long time friend Matthew Willis. Together they made several short animated films. He continued to produce more films through the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. He attended DePaul University at Barat College in Chicago, where he studied Theatre. At the end of his freshman year, he transferred to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
