A child of the 70s & 80s blockbuster, Gary spent most of his childhood dreaming up adventures or in a dark movie theater watching Spielberg and Lucas films. His teenage and early adult years were spent in the visual arts until finally landing in the film world.Irwin has been involved in the film and video community for the past ten years. In 1994, He attended Philadelphia's University of the Arts, where he studied Film & Animation. He started his freelance film career in 1997, on the set of local filmmaker Eugene Martin's feature "Edge City". A fascination with the lighting and technical aspects of film led Gary to a stint as a Grip/Lighting Technician for various independent films and television shows, including Trading Spaces. He moved into production in 2001 and worked for two years in the Saturday Night Live film department. Along the way he worked as an 1st & 2nd A.D. on a number of independent features & shorts.In 2003, Gary switched over to full-time work. He spent two years as an on staff producer for the Philadelphia production company Get-Kinetic before moving over to his current position at 9.14 Pictures where he produces and coordinates. In his spare time, Gary is battling to get his mild case of OCD under control. He lives in the Art Museum area with his girlfriend of four years, Christa. They have a cat named Frody.
