A native of Copenhagen, Denmark, Jakob Hjort Jensen started his career in animation at the age of 17. He worked as an assistant animator at A-Film studios in Copenhagen, honing his craft on several commercials and features such as Asterix Conquers America, Jungle Jack and as an animator on All Dogs Go to Heaven 2. Jakob has also worked at the Amblimation Studios in London as an animator on the feature Balto. He then joined the newly founded studio DreamWorks in 1995 where he served as an animator on the character of Young Moses in The Prince of Egypt. His other credits there include The Road to El Dorado where he worked on the lead character Tulio; Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, where he served as a supervising animator on the lead character, Spirit; the animated action adventure Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, where he worked as the senior supervising animator on the title character, Sinbad; as well as the animated comedy hits Madagascar and Shark Tale. Jakob is currently working as a supervising animator on a DreamWorks' co-production with Aardman, the upcoming animated comedy Flushed Away.
