Alan Baltes was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and his family moved to Santa Barbara, California when he was 6 years old. He attended San Marcos High School and his classmates included actors Eric Stoltz, Anthony Edwards, Tony Award winning actress Kady Huffman, and supermodel Kathy Ireland. But it wasn't until he met actor Don Stroud, that he became interested in acting. Alan attended a casting session with Don to help him read his lines and was noticed by the casting directors of the show "General Hospital". Alan ended up working 8 months on the show playing a Police Cadet along with actors Marc Dacascos and Jack Wagner. He polished his acting skills at the Los Angeles Repertory Company, and eventually became a student of acting coach Cliff Osmond. Alan continued to work on various films, television shows, and commercials over the years, and also toured with the American Indian Dance Theatre as an Assistant Producer. In 1999, Alan became interested in working on committees at the Screen Actors Guild, and is now on the Screen Actors Guild Affirmative Action Diversity and Native American Commitees.
