Four days later, he received a hand written letter back telling him, "Don't waste your time apprenticing. You can only learn from doing, not watching. This is what I learned. Good luck + go for it!" At the age of 13, he was originally cast as "Henry Evans" in the film The Good Son (1993). The film later was put on hold in the middle of script rehearsals due to lack of funding. Five years went by and Michael was too old to play the role and Macaulay Culkin was cast in his place. Trivia Update / From: Amanda
When Michael Klesic was shooting "Outlanders" in London, there was a night shot that they had to do where they were dragging a car out of a water filled ditch. The care was totally submerged. The tow truck drivers could not hook up the car, nor could the art department or any of the crew. The Producers could not get a hold of any divers to come out to location that night so the shooting was going to have to be scrapped. Michael, just having spent 3 hours in makeup, and thus having to be drenched in water anyway for the shot, and being a surfer and used to swimming and holding his breath for long periods of time, volunteered to freedive under the water and hook up the car to the tow truck and save the shot. The producers were extatic and the show was completed that night. He is the most un-stuck up actor I have ever met and deserves all his success. After doing what he did, he said something like, "nothing like a little swim to wake you up." But he saved the day.
