Daniel Lee grew up alternately in Ohio, Alabama, and El Paso, Texas. He was a frequent straight-A honor student in school. In fifth grade, he got the highest grade point average in the entire school in English, Science, Social Studies, and Math. In adolescence, he suffered severe depression and suicidal tendencies and has often made references to being the most unpopular person in high school. It was around this time he showed interest in original music - attempting to compose hip-hop lyrics and music. At age 15, Daniel's mother put his grandfather's guitar in his hands in response to Daniel's complaints of being bored. Within an hour, he was able to pluck out a variation of the guitar line in Johnny Cash's "Tennessee Flattop Box." Daniel's grandfather walked into the house, and recognized the tune. Very surprised at the musical aptitude the youth showed, Daniel's grandfather showed him some chords and encouraged him to pursue guitar further. But it was another 8 years before Daniel made a serious attempt at songwriting. Under his given name, Daniel Perea, he released a 13 song album of synth-based darkwave titled "Thirteen Psalms". A followup titled "Dracula A.D." was released a year later.Daniel floated in and out of various projects and bands before finding wider success with his horrorbilly outfit, Dr. Daniel & The Rockabilly Vampires.Known for being a jack-of-all-trades, he has also pursued endeavours in acting, television, filmmaking, and pro-wrestling.
