Brendan Lieb was born on August 25, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He trained at the Pittsburgh Playhouse School and at the age of 7 joined the Pittsburgh Playhouse Repertory Company. He was also trained in Opera by Claudia Pinza and spent seventeen years studying and performing ballet. He appeared with The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre as well as The Pittsburgh Opera and The Pennsylvania Opera Festival. After ten years he moved to New York and spent the next seven years training with the legendary Stella Adler and Uta Hagen while performing with some of the finest directors and actors in the American theatre. At the end of his training with Uta Hagen he assisted her with the creation of her book, "A Challenge For The Actor", by accepting Ms. Hagen's invitation to work on the new exercises in a special class and proof reading chapters upon completion. He has appeared in over 60 professional productions including on and off Broadway as company member of The Lion Theatre Company, The Classic Stage Company (OBIE Award), The New York Shakespeare Festival where he appeared with Kevin Kline and F. Murray Abraham, The Lincoln Center Theatre Company, as well as appearing on Broadway in "Bloomsday On Broadway" with Dana Ivey and Jeffrey Wright, in the World Premier's of "Bravo NY!" and "World Without End" and at The American Kaleidoscope Theatre in "No Trumpets, No Drums" which was directed by Zoe Caldwell. Regional work includes James / John in "Love! Valour! Compassion!", Wilfred Owen in "Not About Heroes", Romeo in "Romeo & Juliet", Walter in "Five Finger Exercise", Alan in "Equus", Marchbanks in "Candida" and Anthony in "Sweeney Todd" at the Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Pittsburgh Playhouse and The Heritage Theatre in New Jersey. He also created several roles for playwright Leon Katz. On television he appeared in "West Side Waltz" and "Silk Stalkings", both for CBS. His film work includes "Milk & Money" with Calista Flockhart, Peter Boyle and Olympia Dukakis for RKO Pictures and as Fredric Ames in Emmy Award-winning Rich Ficara's "Lies In Love" for East End Pictures, which had its world premiere at The Long Island Film Festival. Mr. Lieb has written a book of poetry and is currently completing a commissioned screenplay for a film which he will also appear in for East End Pictures.
