At one time coached the Boston University Roller Hockey team for the Collegiate Roller Hockey League.
He and Shii Ann Huang are the only contestants competing in "Survivor All-Stars" who were not members of the "jury" that decided the winners in their previous "Survivor" attempts.
Is engaged to fellow Survivor All-Star Amber Brkich.
Proposed to Amber Brkich on national television, before she won a million dollars on 'Survivor'.
Won a "Survivor" series-record 16 challenges (reward and immunity) as both a tribe member and individually in his appearance on "Survivor: All-Stars" (Has since been broken by Tom Westman, who won 17 on "Survivor: Palau.")
For a special wedding present, he bought Amber a house and a pair of real diamond earrings (because she always wore fake). She bought him a Boston Red Socks painting, (as he is a huge fan) and got it signed by the players. She also made him a necklace filled with sand from Panama (where they fell in love) and sand from the Bahamas (where they were married).
Holds a unique "Survivor" distinction of being the only contestant to compete in two seasons, make the merge in both, and never sit on the jury. He was voted out right after the merge in "Survivor: Marquesas" before the number of contestants got down to nine, and wasn't a jury member in "All-Stars" since he finished in the final two. Richard Hatch, Colby Donaldson, Tina Wesson, Ethan Zohn, and Jenna Morasca all also competed in two seasons and never sat on a jury, but none of them made the merge in "Survivor: All-Stars."
