Matthew Mishory / Biography

Born in Santa Monica, Matthew Mishory studied film theory and screenwriting at the University of Calilfornia, Santa Barbara, where he was recipient of the Regents Scholarship and the Golden Reel Award for Achievement in Filmmaking. His writings on film criticism and international cinema history have been published in the Focus Media Journal, housed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. After completing two thesis films and working for several years in independent feature film production, he makes his feature film writing and directing debut with Portland, starring Jonathan Caouette, Alex Schemmer, and Layke Anderson.
