Sergio Myers taps into reality unlike any other producer or director today. Often labeled as the "idea" guru, the creator and executive producer of the best reality show of the summer, Myers and his 7 Ponies Production Company, premiered the anticipated reality series, "Sorority Life" (2002) on MTV on June 24th. He secured the rights from The National Greek System, which granted him total access to a 10-week pledging process from rush to initiation. For the first time ever, the MTV network picked up 13 episodes of "Sorority Life" (2002) without a pilot. Through creative script writing and intense on-set directing, Myers created the first ever on-camera real life documentary-soap into the lives of sorority girls for 3 seasons. From there came the spin off series Fraternity Life for 2 seasons.Sergio Myers began his highly successful career in 1990 producing and directing local political campaign television commercials, helping catapult many previously unknown politicians into State Legislature. From there he moved on to an award winning documentary, the background story of the renowned Heaven's Gate, securing exclusive access into this controversial cult and the days leading up to the tragic events. The film won the Award for Best Documentary from EBE, was presented at the Margaret Mead Film Festival and was inducted into the American Museum of Natural History.The worldwide recognition of this documentary and Myers skills at interviewing, producing and directing lead him to being a director, writer and producer for 9 episodes of E! True Hollywood Stories. Some never before told stories included such celebrities as Redd Foxx, Linda Blair, The Kennedy's, Andy Kaufman and Bo Derek. When the fashion and design channel The Style Network began, Myers was then recruited to produce and write specialized programming including Macy's Passport, and produce, write and direct the Style Network series Homes with Style.Having had the expertise of dealing with massive crews and extensive budgets set Myers up for development deals with HBO, MGM, VH1 and FX before going on to direct and produce several reality shows for Spike TV including 10 Things Every Guy Should Experience, Tripped Out: The Ultimate Guy Vacation, Crash Test and Street Racer. Myers then formed Surging Media Group, his Direct Response production arm and moved on to the world of Direct Response TV using his skills as a director, producer and writer to collaborate on multi million dollar brands and successful campaigns such as Oreck, NordicTrack, The Firm, Supreme Pilates, Exerstrider and Equity Repositioning to name a few. With his widespread experience of television, an eye for meticulous detail and understanding his client's needs and goals has put Myers at the top of his field always delivering a high quality product that makes an impact and gets results.Currently, Sergio is in pre-production on An Hour to Soon, a scripted short film which he wrote and will direct.
