I was a member of his fan club as a teenager and when we came out to California in June 1965 to look at colleges I persuaded my parents to stop by the fan club president's home. She proceeded to call Randy and while I sat in the chair he had sat in while visiting her house, I got to talk on the phone to him. He told me he would have come over to her house to meet me but he had to appear in court for a speeding ticket he had received. I was thrilled just to get to talk with him

Randy Boone and I were in school together at Fayettevill High. I was a junior, he was a sophomore. We were both out for football, had to stay in shape by gymnastics and track. I moved away in 1958. Last I heard, he was acting "weird." (that's gossip) Next time I saw him, he was on TV (Man's World). Way to go, Randy!
