“COPACABANA, OF LOVE AND SHADOWS” TO BE BROUGHT TO THE SCREEN Roberto Jabor will direct "Copacabana, of Love and Shadows" from his own script. The film will be Executive Produced by Alex Massis for The Film Source, a Florida-based production and sales company. Actors already attached: Jonathon Trent as "PEDRO" Jim Verraros as "FLAVIO/SUZIE" “Copacabana, of Love and Shadows” will be Jabor's first full-length film after having completed many award-winning shorts. “Copacabana…” will mark the 15th film for Alex Massis who Executive Produced, among others: "The Silent Flute” starring David Karadi, "Sellout" with Oliver Reed, “The Traveler" directed by Oscar-awarded Moshe Mizrahi', The Japanese movie, "The Camel with A Child," and a full-length documentary, "Promised Lands" directed by Susan Sontag. Roberto Jabor has received the following accolades: 2000 - "The Slapping Women" based on a tale from Nelson Rodrigues - Best screenplay - 6th Rio Film Festival - short movie - Rio de Janeiro – Brazil; 1998/99 - "Concepcion" - Best Director from South America 90's - OutFest Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, Los Angeles – USA; 1995 - "Concepcion" - Best Movie - Brazilian Modern Art Overview - Museum of Modern Art, Sao Paulo – Brazil; 1992 - "Concepcion" - 3rd Place - 4th Atlantic Film Festival, Rio – Brazil;1990 - "Embracing the Trees" - Honorable Mention - 2nd Atlantic Film Festival, Rio – Brazil;1989 - "The Wardrobe" - Best Movie - 1st Atlantic Film Festival, Rio - Brazil.
