A Painted House is set in the rural community of Oak Park, AR, in 1952. Ten-year-old Luke Chandler (Logan Lerman) lives and works on a rundown cotton farm with his parents (Robert Sean Leonard and Arija Bareikis) and grandparents (Scott Glenn and Melinda Dillon). It is Luke's personal mission to earn enough money picking cotton to be able to afford a new coat of paint for the Chandler house.

Haystack (2007)-based on the Trenton Duckett case. It's rumored that Melinda's parents sold the story.
Of course the story has been slightly modified, names changed, etc. As you know, Trenton Duckett is still missing. :(
A young boy is kidnapped, and the suspects include the boy's mother (Ashley Williams) and her ex-boyfriend (Pablo Schreiber). When the mother finds out she is a suspect in the kidnapping, she takes matters into her own hands, compounding the tragedy and further complicating the mystery.
